Is Microgaming Your Favourite?

I have found in the past that some of my favourite online casinos happen to be Microgaming casinos. It’s gotten to the point where I can pick out a Microgaming casino, and know that I will like playing there. Aside from PlayTech and Realtime Gaming, I would have to say it is my favorite software on the market these days.

It has been around since 1994 and is based out of the Isle of Man.  For over 17 years now they have been a leader in online casino software. They provide software for over 100 different online casinos and are credited with creating the layout for many online casino games such as the progressive slot machines, virtual blackjack table and the multi-player poker table.

One of the things that keep me coming back to Microgaming casinos is the reassurance that they use Random Number Generation (RNG). Every casino of theirs has RNG that keeps the casino completely random and fair. RNG is audited regularly by third party vendor eCOGRA .

To find out if you are playing at a Microgaming casinos simply go to the home page and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will see a list of affiliates and there should be a Microgaming stamp. If you cannot find a stamp then click on “about us” and there they will state what software the casino uses.

The software may seem like a secondary item to consider when picking your online casino but it really is a determining factor in your experience at the casino.

Best Craps Apps

I was playing a game on my phone the other day with my sister who lives about 7 states away. We were actually chatting and playing when she asked me if I’ve downloaded Craps University yet? I told her no but quickly went to the app store and downloaded this awesome application. It got me thinking about other crap applications that are available for the computer and phone. I decided that I needed to do some research.

I had so many other social games installed on my phone and I play craps at all of my favorite casinos online but it didn’t even dawn on me to have an app on my phone.

As I mentioned before Craps University is a great app and I found through research that it is the most popular craps app. My favorite thing about the game is when you shake your phone you can actually hear the dice tumbling around and landing on the table just like at an actual casino.

I found that Aw Craps was the second most popular, but this particular game will set you back about 2 dollars. Craps Deluxe and Casino Craps are excellent choices, both a dollar. Craps Deluxe has stickman calls and a bunch of other options not available with the other apps.

Casino Craps was fun but there wasn’t as much animation as I usually prefer, it was more along the lines of a video slot.

I hope this has been helpful. All of these games have tutorials as well as rules and regulations. If you are planning on going to Vegas anytime soon I highly recommend these applications for practice.

Online Poker Fiasco

Because online poker is the most popular online casino game variety, it makes it the biggest target. It wasn’t a matter of if, but a matter of when there would be some sort of controversy surrounding the online gambling industry. When the online poker indictment happened back in April of this year it had many players, casinos and banks very skeptical.

If you are unfamiliar with the online poker fiasco allow me to fill you in. Several poker sites were seized by the Feds due to the sites disobeying a 2006 anti-gambling law which prohibited US banks from processing internet wagers.

The story that the general public does not know is that these banks were receiving very attractive incentives for masking these wagers. Bets were being written down as golf balls, jewelry, and even flower sales, but not without a price.

John Campos, vice president of SunFirst Bank of Utah was prosecuted for accepting wagers in exchange for an “investment” to the tune of 10 million dollars. Yeah, that was an investment alright.

These were three poker sites all together that were indicted. Full Tilt is the biggest one, based out of Ireland. Although it was seized by the Federal Government, there are rumors that a French company is trying to purchase is and bring it back to life so to speak; as soon as online gambling is regulated in the US, of course.

There are two bills trying to be pushed through legislation about this matter, so now all anyone can do is wait. There is much more to the story at Wikipedia. That’s where I get a lot of my information.

Casino Bodog to Stop Accepting US Players

Casino Bodog will soon no longer accept US players. Casinos that do accept US players seem to be diminishing, and it is a very sad thing to witness.

Some may argue that if the US Government would get together and make some decisions to safely regulate online gambling in the US everything would run a little more smoothly. Some might also argue that regulating online wagering would produce a lot of tax money that is exactly what this “cash-strapped” Government needs, with its 1.2 trillion dollar deficit.

But alas, there are far too many people opposing these two valid points to get anything done. Which is why casinos such as Bodog are withdrawing from the US market.

By the end of 2011 they will officially be “Bodog.eu” and their brand that has grown immensely since it started will be operating with a license from the U.K. Gambling Commission rather than Morris Mohawk Gaming, out of Canada.

Everyone at Bodog is extremely excited about the security and prestige that accompanies a license from the U.K. Gambling Commission, especially founder Calvin Ayre.

Wikipedia says that the Bodog brand is trying to build something “not unlike the Virgin brand venture.”It is doing a good job at it by being ranked 13th in overall online casinos, as well as 2nd in online casinos still accepting US players.

I guess in a couple of weeks us US players will have to find someone else to get our fix with a slot machine or blackjack game.

How to Win at Craps

When it comes down to it craps is just a game of simple math. Many claim that is a game strictly of chance, but it is not. If you want to win at craps (Who doesn’t) follow these simple tips. But first keep in mind that you shouldn’t let the complexity of your mind take over, after all this is a very simple game. With that being said, let’s get started.

On the comeout roll there are a couple of scenarios that could happen:

If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, they win.

If the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that is the point number. The shooter then rolls again until the point number is rolled again, or a 7 is rolled. If the point number comes first, the shooter will keep rolling until a 7 is rolled.

If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12, they lose.

Your job is to place bets on these rolls. The only way to win in craps is to place the proper bets. If you are the shooter, you place your bet on the pass line. You will roll until you shoot a 7, and rolling the point number is a win.

Some tips to keep you winning:

Stay in the game, up your wager, make sure the odds are in your favor.

The pass line bet has a house edge of 1.4%; you won’t find any other game in the casino with those kinds of odds.

When it comes down to it, craps is a simple numbers game. It may take years to perfect, so get out there and start playing. I like practicing online. When you get comfortable and perfect your skills and you play casino games real money can be won.

I’ve recently been reading on www.Foxnews.com about people getting caught in “dice sliding” or “dice scooting” scandals. Stay away from these practices, or anyone asking you to be involved in these.

Trump goes Virtual

The Donald is getting in on the action. Donald Trump announced earlier this month that he has been assembling a group of investors to launch an online gambling company when the US government legalizes it, of course.

His group of investors includes Avenue Capital’s Marc Lasry and his own daughter Ivanka. Needless to say Trump has been lobbying hard to get this legislation passed.

According to an article I read in Bing News, Trump has said “This has to happen because many other countries are doing it and like usual the U.S. is just missing out. It seems inevitable, but with this country you never know if it’s inevitable.”

He brings up some very valid points. The US is missing out on a lot of money they is going across the pond.

Trump, who owns casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, is no novice when it comes to the industry, although he has never ventured into the virtual world of gaming.

Trump also is no stranger to bankruptcy and lawsuits, but he is confident that the online gaming industry could turn his luck around. He wants to join the likes of many UK and Canadian casinos offering online blackjack, poker, roulette, slots, and craps.

He also closes out the interview by no-so-humbly boasting that “We have the hottest brand in the world according to many and we think we will do extremely well because of the Trump brand.”

That may be true, but what it comes down to is if the legislation will pass, and if it does, when?
